  Managed a department of 5 people with an annual budget of $200,000. The department worked with producers and developed CD-ROMs, DVDs, and web sites for the various publishing divisions of the corporation. I was responsible for staffing, budgeting, purchasing, maintaining and backing up all software. Major responsibilities:

  Web site programming for public web sites. Extensive use of Active Server Pages. Transferred to internal IT operations department. Worked on intranet for global operations and data warehousing development using Hyperion software on IBM mainframe. Other miscellaneous projects.

  Retraining myself in Open Source technologies. Have taken classes at Collin County Community College in addition to all 4 courses in the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) program at North Lake College, Las Colinas. Currently in the Unix program. Have built several computers for home network and have installed several distributions of Linux. Home machine is a 64-bit dual-monitor Ubuntu system.

  Completed 2-year Unix program at North Lake College, including 2 semesters of shell scriping and one semester of system administration.

Preparing for Red Hat RHCE exam.
